Who Will Do That

I was just looking at the tasks, and I know that now we mylotters can put tasks up for people to do, but don't you think some are very cheap and not worth your time to do, when others pay so much better? Right now, there is a task up for 400 to 500 words and it is only going to pay $1. Why would anyone do that when they can write 15 or 16 sentences and get paid $2 for their time? That one for 400 to 500 words is worth at least $5... and if they are very cheap it would be worth at least $3. I'm sure there will be folks to do it, but it won't be me. AC would pay me at least $3 for that much and maybe more than $5. Well, it's off to AC for me today to earn a few bucks. I'll be back when I see more $2 tasks because they add up fast. One can easily make $8 an hour here when those kinds of tasks are up. How about you? Is it worth your time to write a 400 to 500 word article for $1, when you can make 3 or 4 times that somewhere else?

Hi Friend, you are right $1 does noy sound like much does it. Well alittle off topic here, how is WW going for you? And how about the walking? I guess maybe I should look at those tasks! I have not even looked at them yet. [muscles4me]
Doing great Muscles... lost a total of 7.8 pounds in 2 weeks. I'm walking 4 laps now which equals 1 mile .. I do it without stopping to rest now too. I also walk my neighborhood.. it has some hills, which is good to make me sweat. I burn more calories with the hills, I'm sure. [OreoCookie3]

Wow - I totally missed that task! I definitely wouldn't have done it. I often hesitate about the writing tasks anyways, because I don't usually feel confident enough about writing about some of the given topics. I don't mind writing 3 or 4 paragraphs about a topic - but 400 to 500 words for even less money seems like a bit much to me! Geez! [Jennlk84]
I do the $2 ones that I know I can do... I did 4 on toy cars yesterday..they are just 4 paragraphs... a total of not more than 16 sentences... which is a great return for my time. [OreoCookie3]

I've never done the "tasks". The ones I've seen require the tasker to look something up on a specific search engine. I prefer to use Winzy. [BarBaraPrz]
I'm not sure what they pay. [BarBaraPrz]

I totally agree with your observations. Although it is the task maker's decision on how much he will pay for each task, i guess a sensible fee would attract more tasks takers. I have personally focused on working on tasks just like you. And it's really worth it. I now only occasionally post on the discussions, unless of course i find something worth my time. Since the task has started i have already set a goal to at least do one 4 or 5 paragraph writing while i'm at work. And for this May payout i'm expecting some great pay to be on my paypal account. [zedlav23]
:D thanks for choosing me for the "best response." I think ghostwriting would definitely be more taxing but more rewarding. Quite interesting work I must say. [zedlav23]

I don't do the tasks, just not interested. They don't seem like fun and besides - I don't have time to really get into them, I have a job that takes my time... [ElicBxn]
I figured the 46 meant something beside what it said.... [ElicBxn]

I would rather do a MyLot Task for $1 than bid on GAF for the same amount - at least you know when you hit return the job is yours - but that is all. I guess someone will take the job eventually, but it looks too involved for me. I don't know much about Squidoo, and right now I'm being paid around $6 per 250 words for 2 contracts I've been awarded - plus another of $3 per 250 that doesn't involve keywords, just rewriting simple facts pages. I have to confess, I was so busy last week I didn't have time to do my regular $10 worth of MyLot KW articles - but that's my starting rate these days. Here, it's a bit different (I'm prepared to take a cut in 'wages' for a friend), but outside a dollar an article isn't a job - it's an insult. [jazzsue58]
I don't do any bid jobs. I belong to 2 different websites that you have to bid, and I have never bothered with them. [OreoCookie3]

I am a copy writer and I get paid $11/hour to research and write. If there is any research needed to write a good article, $1 for 400 to 500 words is like paying THEM instead of being paid! [Annie2]
Yes, getting key words in an article for SEO purposes is painful at times and makes the article seem cheesy. [Annie2]

I haven't done any of the task myself and that's just because of what you said. they just don't seem to be worth my time. i rather just hang out here with you wonderful people and respond to your wonderful post [34momma]
i have not done any yet, some of them really just don't seem worth it [34momma]

GOOD MORNING BOO, Smart thinking on your part i'd say. I have never done tasks but don't know whay anybody would fool w/them if they are like that. Hope u have a great day. [ANTIQUELADY]
GLAD u are. SO far o good. love u to, boo. [ANTIQUELADY]

I would spend my time to write 500 words for one dollar if I have a choice to do it somewhere else for more...$8 for one hour is not bad if working from home. I would keep doing my work with people who pay more.... [polachicago]
Right.. if you can make more somewhere else, that is what to do. Mylot pays the same time or nearly the same time as AC does for page views.. so that helps me out a lot. [OreoCookie3]

I agree with you. That's just not worth the hard work for $1 especially when you can earn more on other sites. I know people will do the work but I don't really think it's fair to expect anyone to do that much work for that little pay. There's ther sites that pay you for tasks and the pay used to be okay but now that's decrasing. [jane239]
I'm sure someone will do them, but I won't. It's just not a fair price for the work involved. [OreoCookie3]

The whole task thing baffles me as they wrote me a very nice letter saying a I had done a wonderful job and met all the qualifications, but they were rejecting it. I have decided not to bother looking at the list. I can spend time writing instead! [Trensue]
I've had a few rejected too, and fixed most of them. Now after being rejected I have learned what NOT to do. And when I can do them, I will... but if i have no clue I won't bother trying and then screw it up. [OreoCookie3]

Actually I was suppose to start this discussion... but you started...Any way! I am new to this mylot...May be arround 12 to 15 days ago i have joined this.. One day I thought that I must try to solve task.... but i found that its useless.. instead of that responding to the discussion will worth. In discussion you dont have to use much brain...... you can simply reply what is in your heart... I am correct? Do you agree? [anandjk]
What I want to add here is not all task are hard... But inspite of using our brain on task... responding discussion will be of worth... And even from discussion also you get to learn new things.... [anandjk]

With a Blog I Write a post with less than 400 word and in the end of the day with you aroud $2 you are rigth that you have to pay much more. [leandrolourena]
I would not waste my time on 400 plus words for $1. Welcome to Mylot Leandrolorena. [OreoCookie3]

I don't do the tasks..after writing for magazines it seems pointless to get paid so little...But for those who like them I would go for the ones that pay more! [jillhill]
Yeah, some of them are really difficult, and far too specific to even get started on, so I usually skip those/ [savetheunlikely9]

Where do I find tasks that pay $2 and what are the "don'ts" so they do not get rejected ... Regards [mirali110]
As to the "don'ts" - Whatever you do, don't copy and paste, or use any writing that isn't your own. Before you accept one, just do a little looking around online to see if the topic is something you can write about with a little thinking, don't accept it if you can't think of anything. Don't write short pointless sentences, but rather informative, and avoid writing in first person. That's all I can think of :) [savetheunlikely9]

i havent seen that $1 task yet... are those writing tasks from sharon? yeah i agree with you it is really cheap for that many words... i've seen tasks that pay $4 for that kind. i will not do it, that is really hard, would require a lot of thinking from me since i am not that good a writer yet, and then would require too much time too and then the pay is too low...no way, not for me... i would rather posts responses than do that. [jayrene]
hey, thanks... im scared to do those that requires many words... lol... if i have improved well on the four paragraphs, then that would be the time that i will try those... [jayrene]

Well your word count was 207 on this one so I guess this discussion should yeild you .50 cents. [gitfiddleplayer]
I just spent 15 minutes writing about Digital Cameras and made $4. It was something I knew a little something about, and looked up the rest online.... in 10 minutes they approved it. I can't make that just posting here... although I do it because the pennies do add up, and I enjoy the chatting with everyone. There are some $4 tasks up now I don't know anything about so I will let them alone... but when I can I jump on those I can do. [OreoCookie3]

I completely love the 4 paragraph ones, I've made $8 in the past few days. I mean, I like posting here and having conversations with people, but nothing beats money that comes in that quickly. I didn't see the task for 400-500 words, but I can't imagine why anybody would do that. I just completed a 500+ word one about camera, but the reward was $4. Hopefully it will be accepted, as that one took a little more work than the 4 paragraph ones. The cheap ones aren't so bad either, sometimes. Sometimes they can be really pointless though, and I would never waste my time. The only way that I would write 400 words for $1 would be if there was nothing else to do, or if I really liked the topic. When you think about it, $1 for 400 words is about how much we make on mylot to begin with, so it's not THAT bad. I'm off to go to some more of those paragraph ones - I think I have one in progress about men's robes :D [savetheunlikely9]
Uh oh! I wonder why they have more than one person doing the same thing. That's kind of weird, and they didn't accept mine yet. Hmmm. I will say that $4 is pretty nice, doing these tasks basically makes sure that I'll make cashout this month. I can't wait to show my family that this online earning thing is possible [savetheunlikely9]

I understand where you're coming from. Not to mention I always have a hard time getting my tasks approved. Plus I have a hard time finding the information. I have never joined AC before. I don't know if I'd be able to do that either. [Shar19]
I've been with AC for about 2.5 years now. I love it. I have 702 articles, poems, and reviews on there. [OreoCookie3]

To me no, it's not. Not when I can go some place else and make more for the same amount of time involved. I'm like you, if I can make more I will and I'm sure that most people would feel this way. Unless the subject is something that they feel particularly into or interested in. [moondancer]

not everyone gets that money from ac, there are lots of internationals here on mylot, and that money is better than no money at all. They are grabbed up by people who find it worthwhile, it is still faster to make money on the tasks than to do the discussions, so as the saying goes different strokes for different folks. In some countries across the world 2.00 may be 4.00 in their national currency. [winterose]
$1 for 400 or 500 words is pretty darned cheap, when a person can do the same number of words and get $4 for it. I made $18 in the last 3 days on good paying tasks. [OreoCookie3]

I have been here over two years. I like to keep doing what I have been. I did a few tasks. But they weren't as enjoyable, so back to the tried and true. [ersmommy1]
You're right.. a lot of them are not fun. I don't do those 10 cent ones, and 20 cent ones... I only do the $2 and $4 ones. And I still love posting too. [OreoCookie3]

Hi Oreo, there are always people who will work for zero dollars. I don't understand the logic behind it; but I guess they have good reasons to do so. Because of these people, we can't demand uniform rates in the writing market. Cheers and happy Mylotting [positiveminded1977]
Yeah I know there are... maybe 1 dollar in one country is worth a million in another? I don't think so. I'm not so concerned with who would actually do them, as to who would actually place a task up there that is so cheap for the work involved? That should be my real question. [OreoCookie3]

yes i know what you mean oreo! its like maybe if they would offer 5dollars then i would gladly do the tasks..plus at times, the tasks are not that interesting for me. lol [jazel_juan]
yes and i hope it would be a lot more interesting. [jazel_juan]

I would not do those either. I would not waste my time doing them for a dollar either when I could make more money doing the same thing some place else. I think they should pay more for those also. [stephcjh]
I know Steph.. those are a waste of time. To the other poster, I belong to AC, and I get grocery money at mid month just from passive income from people reading my stuff. [OreoCookie3]

I wish they make it for $2, I have an article to finish and it just 300 words for $2 compare to Mylot task.I think I have to wait for another task. [grecychunny26]

I agree with your observation sis. Writing for 400 to 500 words should pay higher that what is currently being offered. I am waiting for the $2 tasks as well but I don't have any feedback yet with my first submission. I am not sure if it will be accepted or not. I would like to know how I perform the first time so I could improve should I decide to accept $2 task again. [chikadee21ph]

hi, you are right it is cheap to take a taks just for $1, but may be for someone it is not only for money, they have passion to do the task for practising or improving english, specially for those english is not first language. so if you improve your english and you can earning money although not much, that still is a good thing. just my thought. [jefflu2008]

Yes, the pay is really lousy and it is not worth your time. I don't think that writing a 500 word article for $1 is a good idea. The least that I would take for that kind of article would be around $5. There are a number of companies out there that even pay more... [alindahaw]

I knew this was going to happen. Next you know someone will put up one of those for less than a dollar and the uproar will get worse. I am as well on Associated Content. I've been there for two months now and I'm still trying to figure it out. If they really pay me better for articles there then I won't be doing those type of tasks here. [libby2009]
That sounds great, Oreo. I hope I can do that too. My goal would be roughly $200 a month. [libby2009]

Hello friend thanks for this nice post. I am new here and not so much active. I searched for tasks but never got one. Well I don't have much time too to it any way. Happy mylotting and cheers. Subash [tigeruncle]
Welcome to Mylot Tigeruncle. They are mostly on during the day time here.. depending on what part of the world you live in... I used to take the 10 cent ones but I quit that... and only do the 2 and 4 dollar articles now. [OreoCookie3]

I totally agree with you, one day i took a task for writing 4 paragraphs about somthing for 1$ and i spent 3 hours makinr researchs about it and finally i saw that am wasting my time for only 1$, it does not worth it. [ghazwan]
If you can't write 4 paragraphs in 15 or 20 minutes it's not worth doing. I no longer toil like that. If there are articles, or paragraphs on tasks that I can do I will do them and it is quick money... if they will take way too long I don't bother. I do something else that pays me better. [OreoCookie3]

Hi Coockie, You are right. when I am on the move and write articles either in the form of task or something else I should be paid and paid to my expectation. If someone offers mere $1 for 400 or 500 words it is cheating and I would not be there. [krajibg]
Exactly! People who do take these $1 writing jobs are just making it harder for real writers to make a decent living. They are cheating themselves (by possibly getting inferior work for a dollar) and also cheating real writers out of a decent living. [OreoCookie3]

who will do that? the same people who sit on mylot all day posting to make $1 a day for 10 hours of "work" I think a lot of these people who do this are from third world countries where they are used to making pennies a day and maybe can't make money on sites that pay only in the US and Canada. [fec139]

Where is that site? You mind telling me more about it?I am very interested in it, as i do not mind writing long. [safejunk]
Read the post under yours.. I explained it to that person. [OreoCookie3]

Dear cookie, thanks for the sharing this material. I am from Pakistan and living in Oman. I have get registration from AC. Please tell me that its for the member from whole world or just for the American. May be if i earn some money and after that i can withdraw. And also please advise me how can i publish my material for which i can get earn money fasten. Also please tell me which type of material will give me more money. thanks for all [anislhr]
hello Cookie, thanks again for the reply. Can u please describe what is "upfront payment"? And also please tell me in which tyoe of work on AC i can can get money anywhere in the world. [anislhr]

Just typing 500 words is worth more than $1. Thinking added it's ridiculous. I sure wouldn't do it, but I'm sure someone who is desperate will eventually pick it up. [TheCatLady]
Exactly. I certainly won't do it. [OreoCookie3]

Some of the tasks myLotters put up are a joke. They can't even write a coherent sentence in English. Whether we like it or not, English is the language of this site. I understand and accept that in the forums, there are English learners who make many grammatical mistakes, but it is unacceptable in tasks. How are we to follow instructions when they are not clear and concise? Do we need to guess at what they want for the few cents they are offering? We might guess wrong because they wrote one thing and meant another. Forget it. I'll stick with myLot tasks. They are written in proper English with proper grammar. The payment is fair for the amount of time it should take. [TheCatLady]
That's the truth. I actually do have to chuckle on some of them that some new folks are putting up. [OreoCookie3]

If you're a good, quick writer, it can be worth more than other tasks, some of which may pay only a few pennies or 25 cents and take take you longer to get to $1. Yes, Associated Content offers better opportunity to make money, but you have to meet their requirements regarding subject, keyword density, etc. to get any upfront payment, from what I understand (I haven't written for them for several years). I'm interested in tasks, but like you I'm more interested in the $2-and-up tasks, and in doing my own writing for blogs and other sites where I can make money from Google AdSense. [Idlewild]
Guess I decided that going the AdSense route was more profitable for me than the page view model of AC. What I like about AdSense is that I write something once and can keep earning money from it. Some stuff I've written doesn't get any clicks, but on others I continue to get income a year or more after I posted it. So for me it's become kind of fun to track my earnings and see what kind of subjects make money, and write more on those subjects. [Idlewild]

Hi Oreo, just thought I'd pop in to see what's going on. Haven't been here in a while. I see they are doing tasks now? I went and clicked on it but there were only 4 that I saw...Am I missing something?, haha. Am I in the wrong area? Right now I've been out of work for well over a month so that dollar sounds good to me even though it's a piddly little sum of money, I got to feed my sweetie Kash at least. I never wrote an article though, not sure if I could, so they probably wouldn't even pay me, lol! I guess it's all in how bad you need the money, and right now I'm pretty well broke. Got any jobs for me? Take care hon. [Kashmeresmycat]
I'll have to keep checking on the tasks. I don't know if I could do an article, never did one before. How do you know if you get the task or not?, haha, boy do I sound dumb or what!, ha! Yes, it's been quite some time. I lost my job in December, found another one a month later, hated it, quit, took another job to replace it and the woman backed out on me. Now I've been out of work, it's horrible and I can't find anything. Nobody wants an old lady, we're too stupid, ya know? I want to work from home so bad so I don't have to put up with all this bull anymore, I'm sick of it. Hey, maybe I should write a book hmm?, lol! It's sure fun to be back. [Kashmeresmycat]

Well, right now I do $0.2 task during my work, it is easy to do and a no-brainer task, although it pays me a little. Writing paragraphs is quite hard for a non-native English speaker. I did it once before, and it took me about an hourto research and just to structure my words. So, I decided I will only do that kind of task during weekend, when I have a lot of spare time. Do you mind share what website you meant pays you around $3-4 for writing paragraphs? What is AC you mentioned in your opening topic? Thanks [sophisticated_boy]
Right here at Mylot. Every now and then we get $3 and $4 tasks to write. I made $8 one day, just doing 3 tasks. I also write for AC. [OreoCookie3]

I dont even see anything in my mylot task area. So no problems with it. Anyway i nenjoy paid to socialize sites. [sparkliecandy]

Whoever posted the 500 word ones is probably going to turn it in to a company and collect $5 for it. [TheCatLady]
Yeah really! I saw some today like that... I guess some folks actually do them. [OreoCookie3]

My favorite ridiculous one is to do a job that is supposed to take 10 minutes. The are offering 20 cents. Oh boy, $1 an hour, if you can get it done in the time they say. [TheCatLady]

I agree with you. I know a site (and I have been paid) writing a review for at least 300 words for more than $5 [angelicdoll]

I haven't done any of the tasks as I agree with you, they just aren't worth all the work involved for so little money. I also haven't really seen any that have interested me even for the few cents it pays to do it. What is AC? Is it another site that you post things, as you mentioned about the 400 to 500 words and getting paid around $5.00 for it? Not that I want to join anymore sites as I am now working fulltime offline and don't have enough time to work all the sites I work now. I am not very active in mylot anymore because I just don't have the time. Besides the money isn't much of a motivator. hehehe [chrislotz]

I don't know any site that offers paid to write articlesconfused.I would do the task for dollar one just to get experience. If it is approved i will get one dollar in my account.Right now there are just tasks for paid to click sites.I am already a member of those sites so i cannot join again.I have not seen any new task which involves writing and searching.sadsad [vicky30]

Who will do that? No friend, to me it's not worth my time. I am having fun just trying to find out who would do a minute long strip tease act and make a video of it. They would have to post it to youtube and then get paid $100.00.......of course this is a totally factitious scenario but if I happen to hit the lottery then I would consider paying it out to someone. But to sit down and write out a four or five hundred word article and to only get paid a dollar. Well girlfriend, let me just say that is being downright ridiculous. I don't know if anybody would be that dumb not unless they just didn't have anything better to do with their time. Forgive me for being so frank but i just had to call it the way that I see it. You know now days when things are so tight, we do have to try to be ingenious and to come up with ways to start getting more money generated but whoever came up with that idea of writing so much for so little, I really don't think that they are being realistic. Besides, what in the world can we buy for a dollar these days. We'd be really lucky if we could get a piece of bubble gum with that. But hey, don't let me discourage anyone, if their heart is set on getting that bubble gum chump change then I say go for it!Happy Mylot1 [Citychic]
